Church visitor tip for you...
I recently visited a local church in our area -- and they made a mistake -- here's what happened...
Before the free movie started, one of the staff members made announcements and then, we watched the move for about 2 hours. However, during the movie we had plenty of time to forget all of those announcements including the worship times for Sunday morning. This was a mistake.
Here's the tip to help you get these church visitors to return. (You might think it is simple but I wanted to remind you anyway.) Here's the tip -- Give something printed to your church visitors when they come so they will have it when they return home... something like a newsletter, etc.
And here's a bonus tip -- Give your church visitors a magnet for their refrigerator with the name of your church's website, phone number, worship times, etc. This will be something colorful that your church visitor will not want to throw away.

one way to get church visitors...
Here's another way to get church visitors to visit...
Offer a free movie for people to see at your church building.
As a matter of fact I recently visited a local church where the recent Fireproof movie starring Kirk Cameron.
Let me tell you, Friend -- This was an excellent way for church visitors to come into this church building for the very first time!
You might want to talk with the leaders of your local congregation about doing something like this.

Church visitors for your church -- here's a super idea...
Church visitors -- do you want 'em?
In a couple of weeks 2 NFL football teams will be facing off in Tampa, Florida...
You can invite visitors to come to your church building and watch the big game and maybe you can provide free sodas and pizza?
There's still time to plan and prepare and invite your friends, coworkers, etc. to see the game.
Church visitors might not want to visit worship service -- however, coming to see a football game, etc. won't be so threatening.

what do church visitors want...?
What do church visitors want...?
Here's something that our preacher said today and I thought you might be interested...
When visitors come to our church, they do not want a friendly church...
They [these church visitors] want friends.
What he really means is that the church visitors want to find a church were they can make friends and join a group and become part of a community.
So what do you think about that?
Please share your thoughts about church visitors; won't you?

Get visitors to visit your church... repeatedly...
How about setting up a series of special events... held at your church building... to attract more church visitors?
Maybe you could have a series of NFL football parties and invite nonchristian visitors to your church for these parties... because people in your community will be interested in the NFL playoffs anyway, right?
Perhaps, your congregation would be willing to pay for pizza for these... Or the members of your church might bring sodas and snacks for these visitors to enjoy.

An Outreach idea for you... starting planning now for February...
Here's an idea that you can use to reach out to nonchristians...
Have a Valentine's Banquet on February 13 or 14 and invite your coworkers, neighbors, etc. and others in your community -- yes, invite people that you know will probably never, ever be able to repay you -- and people that are not members of your church yet.
This can easily be a group project that several members of your congregation can get involved in... and good news, Christian... you have a few weeks to work on this.
So, go ahead get started now. Have a meeting next week with some of the other members of your local church to discuss.
You might want to invite the poor, widows, handicapped, lonely, etc. -- They can come to this special event and then maybe they'll decide to visit your church again for a worship service in the future. This is one step in the Evangelism process.
Let me know how it goes; won't you?
See the verses from the new testament below that talk about this:
16 Then He said to him, “A certain man gave a great supper and invited many, 17 and sent his servant at supper time to say to those who were invited, ‘Come, for all things are now ready.’ 18 But they all with one accord began to make excuses. The first said to him, ‘I have bought a piece of ground, and I must go and see it. I ask you to have me excused.’ 19 And another said, ‘I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to test them. I ask you to have me excused.’ 20 Still another said, ‘I have married a wife, and therefore I cannot come.’ 21 So that servant came and reported these things to his master. Then the master of the house, being angry, said to his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in here the poor and the maimed and the lame and the blind.’ 22 And the servant said, ‘Master, it is done as you commanded, and still there is room.’ 23 Then the master said to the servant, ‘Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. 24 For I say to you that none of those men who were invited shall taste my supper.’” -- Luke 14:16ff
